What to Expect
This is a virtual and donation-based all-levels Mysore-style Ashtanga class held via Zoom. After you register, you will receive the Zoom link and password to join class.
You will learn the proper Ashtanga method and sequences of Ashtanga yoga, as taught by my gurus Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois.
We have a lovely, welcoming community and would love for you to join!
What is Mysore-style?
In a Mysore-style class, the teacher does not instruct throughout class, but instead is available to give attention to each individual student as needed.
Students are welcome to drop in anytime during the designated time. For this class, you may drop in between 6-8 am, so long as you complete your practice by 9 am.
What are Moon Days?
In the Ashtanga tradition, we take rest on days where there is a new moon and a full moon. You will be notified of these in class and/or via email.
An Important Note for Beginners
Ashtanga requires an investment from both teacher and student of time, effort, and dedication. New students and/or those not familiar with Ashtanga yoga must commit to a minimum of 2 weeks of practice with me in order to join the class.
This is a small commitment considering that it is said that to really begin to understand Ashtanga, one should commit to practicing it for at least a year!
Beginners should also consider taking my Ashtanga Led Primary class.
Rest assured that whether you are working on handstands in the Ashtanga advanced series, or have never practiced yoga before in your life, this virtual Mysore class is appropriate for you.
